Muscle Group Target: Abdominal Muscles

Abdominal workouts are great for building core strength, and if your body fat is low enough to show off a six pack, you need to build and define the abs before they start to look cut.  (For the record, that’s going to be somewhere below 15% body fat whether you’re a man or a woman.)

Here’s a great guide for simple, no-gym-required moves you can do to target all the different parts of your abs:

I’ve said it before and will say it until the end of time: you can’t spot correct your body.  The same diet and exercise will reduce your body fat whether you carry it in your stomach or your thighs.  Even if you aren’t below 15% body fat, though, abdominal work will help with core strength required for posture, flexibility, endurance, balance, and form.

Bodybuilding.com is always a great resource for workouts.  Click here to see their entire library of abdominal moves with and without equipment along with user ratings.
